The ESO data center collects all the data ever produced by the VLT, most of the digital data produced on La Silla, and also those acquired with the Hubble Space Telescope, and makes them available to the astronomers. When this photo was taken, it contained about 70TB, but this volume is expected to grow dramatically when the large field survey telescopes will enter in operation late 2008.
